Situated in the scenic neighborhood of Montes de Oca, San Jose, this residence is tailored to accommodate a family of four. User Profile

The prospective residents are a family of four, comprising parents and two school-going children. This residence in Montes de Oca, with its cool climate and captivating views of the Valle Central mountains, offers an idyllic setting for a family seeking a retreat from the bustling city life.

Context

The unique terrain of the property, bordered by neighbors on three sides, presented an intriguing challenge that our architects adroitly transformed into an opportunity. The irregularly shaped land, with a narrow front, wider midsection, and pointed back, inspired a fluid design concept. This fluidity allows for versatile architectural adaptability, integrating seamlessly with the natural contours of the land.

Landscape

Drawing from Costa Rica's rustic rural aesthetics, the landscape design incorporates native fruit trees, echoing the region's traditional charm. Natural wood is a prevalent choice for interior furnishings, lending an organic touch to the living spaces. The use of untreated, locally sourced materials minimizes the project's environmental impact while enhancing its authenticity.

The architecture of Casa D14 exudes positivity and allure, thanks to a meticulous blend of functionality and aesthetics. The intelligently designed irregular plot inspired a fluid concept akin to water, enabling the architects to craft spaces that seamlessly integrate with nature. The dwelling comprises a master suite with a lavish ensuite and walk-in closet, two standard bedrooms sharing a bathroom, a compact gym, a guest room with a walk-in closet, an office, a pantry, a cozy dining area, a family and TV room, an open terrace, and a refreshing swimming pool. Furthermore, a dedicated room for domestic services and ample parking for four vehicles contribute to the convenience and luxury of this abode.

Interior Design

Delving into the interior space, personalized details grace every corner, reflecting the discerning taste of the inhabitants. The design intertwines rustic elements with contemporary vibes, resulting in a sophisticated yet cozy ambiance. The juxtaposition of raw, untreated materials sourced locally exudes an eco-friendly aura while keeping the carbon footprint minimal.
